Hobart’s full-size convection gas and electric ovens are the most recent additions to the company’s long line of ENERGY STAR® qualified products. Although Hobart has produced full-size convection ovens for more than 10 years, the product category has only recently been eligible for the U.S. Department of Energy’s ENERGY STAR certification.

Hobart’s gas ovens require only 44,000 Btu per deck, which is one of the lowest in the industry. An idle energy rate of only 11,900 Btu per hour saves the operator money and is 46 percent energy efficient. Having a lower Btu provides a superior bake and improves the quality of roasted and rethermalized products. In contrast, higher Btu ovens can expose food products to temp-eratures exceeding 850 degrees Fahrenheit, causing products to brown prematurely and dry out.
