Hobart 2000 Series Slicer Enhancement Kit Now Available

Conserve NRA

Hobart has developed an enhancement kit for its Hobart 2000 Series Slicer that includes a thin rubber gasket to be placed between the handle assembly and the carriage tray of the slicer to make it easier to keep the seam clean.

Hobart is making the enhancement kit available to customers because the current seam between the handle assembly and the carriage tray may not last the life of the machine. Since the seam requires maintenance over time, the kit makes upkeep and cleaning much easier for customers. Once the kit is installed, under normal use, the gasket should not have to be replaced.

The kit is available to 2000 Series Slicer customers free of charge. Customers simply need to request the kit(s) in order to receive them. Customers can supply Hobart with individual store addresses and quantities, supply Hobart with a central address and quantity, or have individual stores use Hobart’s designated Web site or toll-free telephone number (1-877-524-8028) to register for the kits for each location.

Upon registration, the enhancement kit will be sent with easy-to-follow installation instructions, including photographs. The kit contains the new gasket, a new meat-grip hanger, replacement screws, a scrubbing pad and scraper. The kit has been designed so that the parts can be installed without requiring technical support. The two-page instructions detail the steps to follow to remove the necessary parts, thoroughly clean the slicer and install the new parts. Hobart estimates it will take approximately 30 minutes per slicer to complete the installation process.

Customers who have slicers that are under warranty or service contract can use the Web site to request Hobart Service to install the kit under warranty or service contract, free of charge. A chain-wide request can also be submitted to the Hobart Account Manager. Options are available to schedule Hobart Service to install the gasket kit for a fee on slicers that are not under warranty or service contract. More details are available here.

Hobart 2000 Series Slicers manufactured after March 1, 2009, have a different handle seam and do not need the enhancement kit. Customers who are unsure about the date of manufacture can register on the Web site to confirm whether the slicer is eligible for the enhancement. The kit is for the Hobart 2000 Series Slicer only. The Hobart 1000 Series Slicer, the Hobart 3000 Series Slicer and the Hobart Edge Slicer are not affected.
