Comply with new USDA labeling rule without compromising sales
As part of Hobart’s ongoing customer
support, we wanted to provide insight into the USDA’s new labeling
requirements, which go into effect Jan. 1, 2012. Grocers must display
nutritional information on certain meat and poultry product packaging.
However, as most grocers know, covering products with multiple or larger
labels can conceal product quality and hurt sales.
Hobart’s
wrapping products enable grocers to display the newly mandated
nutritional information in a way that showcases the color and quality of
meat products. With our wrapping products, grocers can comply with the
new rule and enhance sales at the same time.
Benefits of Hobart labeling solutions:
- Optimize the label space on standard 2.25” width
label formats by placing nutritional information alongside Safe Handling
instructions by using compressed labeling formats.
- Keep
products visible to shoppers by placing safe handling labels on the
bottom of the package using bottom label applier solutions.
- Obtain compliance with high resolution, 3” wide label Access printing technology.
To
help you understand the new mandate, Hobart has created a white paper
to share our weigh wrap knowledge. Click the following resources below
for more information about the new labeling rule:
In addition, Hobart has provided examples of standard labels that meet
the new mandate. Find your product below and click on the image of the
label to save your printable PDF.
