Proof of submission is not proof of receipt by Sponsors. Sponsor is not responsible
for incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete entry of information by participants. Entries
cannot be returned and become the property of Sponsor. Submission must be the original
work of the entrant, and must not include material copied from other sources.
JUDGING: Each entry must meet the entry requirements, as specified above.
Any non-confirming entries will be disqualified. Once each entry is screened for
compliance with the entry requirements, it will be judged by a panel of qualified
professionals from the food services industry. The judging panel will judge each
entry on the basis of the following criteria: Innovation (30%) – How original and
innovative is this design project? Execution (30%) – How well executed is this project?
Overall impact (40%) – What is the overall impact of this design project? Each project
will then be awarded a score from 0 – 1000. Sponsor will tally
all of the scores for each entry and then rank them according to their cumulative
score. Winner will then be selected based on these rankings, with the entrant having
the highest cumulative score selected as the potential winner (“Winner”). Decisions
of the judges are final. In the event of a tie, the entry with the highest score
in the “Overall Impact” criteria will be judged the winner. As this is a contest
of skill, odds will depend upon the number and skill of qualifying entries.
GRANT AWARD: Winner will receive a cash award of $5,000 to invest in additional
sustainability measures, and will be invited to become a Fellow of the HCFS and
help select future operations for grant recognition. The grant will be presented
at the 2008 Greenbuild Expo held November 19-21, 2008 in Boston, MA. Winner will
be invited to Greenbuild Expo as a guest of the HCFS, where he/she will receive
the grant. In order to attend the Greenbuild expo, Winner (or Winner’s representative,
