A long-time member of Hobart Corporation’s Management Team, with a career spanning more than 49 years, Dick served an extremely successful tenure in a number of management positions prior to his developing the Consultant Services Group for Hobart, in addition to being Director of Healthcare and Military Services for the Company.
Dick presently serves as Chair of the National Restaurant Association’s Military Foundation’s Advisory Committee. He has also served on Industry Advisory Boards for the Association for Healthcare Foodservice, the Society for Hospitality Foodservice Management, and is on the Board of Directors of the International Foodservice Executives Association and the International Military Community Executives Association. Dick’s love for the foodservice industry, the healthcare and military segments in particular is obvious.
Dick has received numerous awards from the industry, including Society for Foodservice Managements’ Leadership Award, the Massachusetts Restaurant Association’s Executive of the Year, Healthcare Foodservice Management’s prestigious President’s Award, and in 2010, the National Association of College & University Foodservice awarded Dick the Daryl Van Hook award for outstanding service to the organization. He most recently was awarded the International Foodservice Executives Association’s Industry Award of Excellence.
Dick is a Navy veteran serving as a Navy corpsman during the Viet Nam era. During that time, he met a beautiful Navy nurse whom he married 52 years ago. Dick and Judy have 3 children and four grandsons, and recently became great grandparents to Kailyn Faith. Because of heritage closely tied to the Canadian Maritimes, they also own a home on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia.
Dick is a 49-year member of the Boy Scouts of America, presently serving on the Old Colony Council Executive Board. He is also a dancer at Native American powwows and a Committeeman for the AIS War Dance Society.
Dick holds a degree from Dean College, has CFSP Level 1 certification, is a Serv-Safe instructor, and is also HACCP certified.
