New Food Processor Calculator Provides Insight into Labor Savings, Payback

TROY, Ohio (July 10, 2025) — Hobart, the premium commercial food equipment manufacturer known for designing and building some of the most reliable, must-have equipment, has launched a newly-updated calculator to show the labor savings possible from investing in a continuous-feed food processor. These machines expedite the processing of vegetables, fruit, nuts and cheeses compared to manual operations, leading to a low total cost of ownership and a quick payback. They slice, dice, grate, shred and julienne, according to the cutting tool used. 

The calculator provides potential buyers with the data necessary to choose the right continuous-feed food processor from three popular Hobart models: the FP100 capable of processing 11 pounds per minute; the FP150 that processes 14 pounds per minute; and the FP250 offering 17 pounds per minute processing capacity. 

Visitors to the calculator can choose multiple vegetable types and sizes from a dropdown menu, then input pounds per day that they want to process, their working days per week and year, and their labor cost. The calculator provides a report that indicates the total labor savings per week a food processor offers compared to manually processing product, along with the number of months to achieve payback on the investment. Potential buyers can then download a PDF of the report or copy a link to share with stakeholders.
