Hobart Celebrates 90th Anniversary of Weighing Equipment

TROY, Ohio (January 23, 2024) — Hobart is pleased to announce it is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its retail scale weighing equipment this year. A part of the ITW Food Equipment Group brands, Hobart is the premium weighing equipment manufacturer for the retail grocery space. 

The company, which also manufactures wrapping equipment, began producing scales after acquiring the Dayton Scale Business of IBM in 1934. It introduced its first scale under the Hobart brand, the Model 97 “Low Boy,” a year later. The company has been well recognized for its Quantum Service Scale/Printer, which it introduced in 1995 and produced for nearly 20 years.

Today, the company is best known for its HT Series Scales — innovative, robust weighing solutions designed to be user-friendly and long lasting, while also offering flexibility, intelligence, and power. Hobart has designed the HT Series Scales and other weighing equipment with built-in smart technology to provide customers with exceptional performance and accuracy.
